Dixie Chapter's The Flying Machine
Description
THE NEXT MEET: THAW OUT MEET AT THE FLYING MACHINE.
Lawrenceville Airport, Lawrenceville, GA. Saturday, February 24, 2024.
The plane on the banner flew in from Kiev, Ukraine in early January. It is a Russian–built Antonov AN2B operated by The Ukraine Air Alliance. A couple of tractor-trailers pulled up and loaded it with crates the size of coffee tables. It stayed about two weeks then left for Georgetown, Guyana. Its mission unknown, but was a very rare and cool sight. You can sit on the patio and watch a nice assortment of planes at any given time. Also, the CSX Railroad tracks are right across the street for the Railfans amongst us. Add some Hudsons, Packards, Studebakers and who-knows-what, along with great friends and food, and it will sure make a fun day indeed.
Please try to drive your cars. It always looks Impressive to see a nice lineup in the WTN afterwards.
There will be some door prize drawings , and a special drawing for those who bring their Hudson or other collector car; also a 50/50 drawing.
